Direct Primary Care is a medical payment model where the patient pays a recurring monthly or yearly fee for medical services. Primary Care is not expensive, but health insurance is being used to pay for everything. The healthcare system has become unobtainable for many, due to the ever increasing premiums, middlemen, and administrative costs. Usually, direct primary care practices do not accept insurance. The monthly fee typically covers most of the services that the physician provides in their office. Patients are still able to use their insurance for specialist visits, testing, labs, and hospital stays. Direct Primary Care Physicians still recommend keeping some form of health insurance coverage.
